Clinton may have opened trade with China, but he also put in a lot of rules for them to follow that Bush has never even once enforced.

China was in MFN status many years before the Clintons. Do a little research before you post.

Uhhh…. Clinton hasn’t been President for over six years. And Nixon opened up trade with China, not Clinton.

Now I have a question for you: Are you and effing moron and did you know your fly is open?

Hey, that’s yesterday’s news, why are you picking on the Clintons? Just because their decisions, made based on bribes, might cost a few lives, why bring up the past? They hardly knew the Chinese “fundraisers” that funneled millions of bucks into their campaign coffers…

Youre ignorance made my brain bleed.

Clinton gave China the best trade status in the world, essentially handing them our economy. HE DID NOT OPEN TRADE WITH CHINA!

Dont you remember “made in China” before him?

Nixon opened trade with China, not Clinton.

Multi National Corporations, they same ones who shipped good paying manufacturing jobs to China so Chinese workers could work 16 hours a day, seven days a week for .62/hour . Americans are the biggest hypocrites in the world, who will abuse their own people and others for a cheaper price.

So now this is Clinton’s fault. Not Mattel or the other toy companies. Not the US government for failing to monitor the quality of products coming into this country. You’re blaming Clinton for expanding trade with China, a country that represents a fifth of the worlds population. That’s pretty lame. You might as well blame Nixon for opening diplomatic relations with China.

BTW. The Bush administration has been in office for nearly 7 (ack) years. Tell me. What tangible steps have they taken to ensure that products coming into this country are safe. Have they done a damn thing?

I certainly understand why you blame Clinton. We haven’t had a real president since he left office.

I don’t think that Bush’s borrowing of hundreds of billions of dollars from China is helping us any. Also, the Bush administration has been letting the affected industries write the health and safety regulations here, as well as the environmental regulations. If this keeps up, China’s products will look good in comparison.

Gosh, I didn’t realize that Bill and Hillary Clinton were in the business of painting toys.

That does it, I’m definitely never going to vote for Bill Clinton as President of the United States ever again.

I don’t recall.

Since all of these recalls are for items manufacture and imported in the last few years, the “Blame Clinton for everything” defense does not really apply here.

I think Wal-Mart gets most of the money.

as much as I would like to get on this wagon bashing clintons, believe me I would like to , BUT

Do your research!!! China did not have MFN status before Clinton. They did recieve waivers each year to get the special status, but they were not a MFN status nation.

I don’t know but, now the toy makers are going to have to raise there prices in order to assure quality on the toys they are shipping. Hmmm… we outsourced our toys because it makes them cheaper, but slowly and gradually will have to pay prices as if they weren’t outsourced? Will this become a trend ? Will Hong Kong begin to raise it’s prices once they see how easy it is? Or will many peoples clothes began to fall off in the street first prompting recalls?

Oh let’s not forget the most important part of that open trade agreement with the Chinese. We allowed them to purchase intercontinental balistic missile technology through a contract with the Department of Energy. Clinton specifically changed the department which is responsible for checking this type of sale and transferred it to the Department of Energy so the sale could go through. Can you say Mr. John Wu?

While the lead paint may eventually kill some kids, a nuke deployed with that technology will kill all the kids in the area where it was detonated.

And Hillary now wants to be president while accepting contributions from another Chinese operative?

Be afraid! Be VERY afraid!!!
